I could never give up cheese!

These are words I used to say when I was vegetarian. Cheese was like the joy in a vegetarian diet, added flavoring, made it easy to find food in almost any restaurant, and I was an addict. I loved every different type of cheese, some more than others, but I could eat any with happiness. Now I understand why.

Cheese is by design addictive. Milk, has chemical compounds that make it addictive, this is to encourage mammals to be drawn to this life giving substance. The problem is that at some point a mother stops providing this milk and we loose our addiction, unless in our case we switch to cows milk, which is even more addictive, and cheese is a concentrated form of cows milk making it even more addictive.

The good news is that our addiction goes away after giving it up for a couple months. I no longer crave cheese, and when I look at it, it no longer calls to my taste buds.
